John Kennedy Memorial Award

Named after John Kennedy, a past president of CYA — a man adored by this community, a devoted family man, and a volunteer who could always be found at the ball field. Aubree represents his spirit of commitment and love for this organization.
Bob Canty Memorial Award
Recipient: Jackson Tuhey
Bob Canty spent countless years volunteering and serving as a Board Member at CYA. He was one of those special people you could always find at the fields. Jackson carries that same energy and dedication forward.
Ryan Ruckdeschel Award
Recipient: Daniel O’Brien
This award is named in memory of Ryan Ruckdeschel, who tragically passed away at just 10 years old from ALD disease. Ryan truly loved baseball — and he truly loved CYA. Daniel shows that same love for the game and spirit for life.
William Mahoney Award
Recipient: Adin Melville
Named after William Mahoney — a true Connetquot person, an outstanding centerfielder, and a beloved CYA coach. More importantly, William was a firefighter for FDNY Rescue 4 for 15 years.
On September 11, 2001, William bravely responded to the World Trade Center and entered the Twin Towers to help save others. He was killed in the line of duty that day, along with five other members of Rescue 4.
Their heroic bravery and ultimate sacrifice will forever be honored and remembered.
Tonight’s recipient represents courage, heart, and selflessness — just like William.
Matt Schifano Award

Presented in honor of Matt Schifano, this award goes to an athlete who plays with grit, focus, and sportsmanship every time they step onto the field.
Brian McGee Award
Recipient: Francesco Visone
Given in memory of Brian McGee, this award recognizes a player who plays with passion, determination, and an incredible work ethic — someone who leads by example.
